Do you avoid the topic of hell?
Pastor Wayne Basye delves deep into the difficult topic of hell in today's episode of The Single Christian Women Speak Podcast. We find we don’t have to avoid the topic of hell, but we can avoid spending eternity in hell.
Consider where your idea of hell comes from. Perhaps it’s shaped by stories, childhood images, or fictional books. However, there is only one trustworthy resource for obtaining the truth about hell: Scripture. In this episode, we look at what Jesus said about hell.
Pastor Wayne begins by describing who we are: “We are the workmanship of God. We are God’s poetic creation.” This beautiful concept prompts us to question, “Why would a loving God create a place for the dead with eternal punishment? Why not just let the dead be dead?” He answers these genuine questions, especially in light of the fact that God has done so, “Even after sending His Son into this world to die for our sins?” he explains.

In this episode, Pastor Wayne answers other common questions, such as: What happens to the physical body at death? Can the population in hell think and speak, and are they truly in torment? What is the difference between the soul and the spirit?
Hell: Something to Avoid? Not the topic, but how do you avoid spending eternity there?
As you listen, you’ll discover the Book of Life, and everyone whose name is not written in it will spend eternity in hell. While this truth might seem hopeless, stay with us because he shares the powerful message of hope when he answers, “How do you get your name written in the Book of Life?” by declaring, “Accept the perfect work of Jesus Christ on the Cross.”

Feeling as if no one knows our hearts is a common, empty, and lonely feeling, but Pastor Wayne boldly declares, “He (God) knows the hearts of each individual.” He firmly states, “You need Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior to have your name written in the book of life.” This is a choice we all have, and it is the one that determines our eternity.
You will gain valuable insights and reflect on mankind's relationship with God and our choices. This discussion is invaluable if you seek clarity, hope, or a deeper understanding of your faith.
Take a moment to listen and reflect on these truths. Consider sharing this episode with friends who might also benefit from its message. Let’s explore this topic together and embrace the hope Jesus gives us!
